dreaming of fall vibes

I apologize for the lack of posting as of late. Life has been crazy. I’ve started school and am juggling 4 jobs. That was crazy in itself, but on Thursday I started having some terrible pain in my mouth. Due to the terrible pain, I had to miss class and go to the doctor (luckily I got a same day appointment) who told me my wisdom teeth needed to come out ASAP. So, we scheduled it for the next day.
Let me tell you, getting your wisdom teeth out is no fun. They had to put me to sleep and since I woke up, I’ve felt awful. I thought I’d be better by now, but it’s still pretty bad. I actually woke up almost feeling worse today. Bleh. This is definitely not the experience I had envisioned when my dentist told me that I had to have my wisdom teeth out. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they’re out because they did cause me a lot of pain, but I didn’t expect it to be as painful as this. My friend’s experience seemed to be slightly better than mine though. She said she had her’s taken out by this Dentist in Alhambra and said that even though it was painful (like any teeth extraction would be), they made her feel as comfortable as possible. I wish I had the same sort of experience, but I just seem to be finding myself in constant pain. It’s not fun!
All this talk about teeth has got me thinking about possibly getting my teeth whitened though. I have wanted whiter teeth for such a long time and getting my wisdom teeth taken out has inspired me to be more proactive in getting the smile of my dreams. One of my old neighbors recently had her teeth whitened by a Dentist in La Habra, so I might have to ask her for a recommendation. Watch this space.
So, I’m stuck at home and loopy on drugs. I’ve been in and out of sleep, but mostly trying to calm my nerves and feel better with some White Collar and HGTV. Add in a couple hours of the Sims 4 and you’ve got my weekend so far. I honestly don’t know how I’m even able to write this post. BUT. I needed to get a post out. I am feeling so sluggish honestly, I just can’t wait for this to be over, but for now, I have plenty of time on my hands. Like I said once this pain is all over, I’ll be considering whitening my teeth to make myself feel pretty again, so I’ve already been doing my research into products and searching for questions like “how long do crest white strips last” if I were to go down this route of whitening, but we will see!
But, while I’m completely lost in creative thought, I figured I’d share some links and a little fall inspiration. It may still be hot as heck here, but that doesn’t mean I can’t dream of fall leaves and apple chai!
Ooh! Looks like Pantone has named its colors of spring… What do you think? I absolutely adore the colors I’m seeing. Lucite green, aquamarine, custard… So beautiful! I’m quite excited to see how these colors translate into the fashions we’ll see.
Kelsey’s transformation is so awesome. I’m actually growing out my hair and staying away from coloring it as well, so I’ve been loving checking out others’ hair transformations!
fall 2014 vibes
Had some fun throwing together this little fall inspiration board. Since I’ve been stuck at home the past couple of days feeling no motivation to even get up, let alone get dressed, I’ve at least been dressing for fall in my mind! One of the things I dislike most about living in Arizona is the lack of actual seasons. I’d love to have a blustery fall instead of a fall in the 80s.
This fall, I’m craving rich colors mixed with more airy ones. Maroons, mustards, grays, tans, light pinks. Style-wise, I’m loving panama hats, lace and small details. Distressed jeans are definitely on my radar and on my body pretty much every minute I’m not working. I love how I can mix them with a more formal piece for a stylish, put together look that’s still laid back. I’m also obsessed with leather and basics like the trench above. I really wish I could do that maroon tulle skirt… How cute is it? That with a graphic tee tucked in, some pumps and my hair in a top knot. Mhm. Jewelry-wise, I’m loving rose gold and more antique looking pieces. One of my favorites right now is a large druzy stone from The Shine Project. Organic pieces that go with everything are definitely going to be my go-tos this season.
So bring on the chai lattes, sweaters, cool breezes and cuddles. Fall, I’m ready for ya.
