We all (at least try) and make New Year’s resolutions… Skincare is one of my tops! I am always keen to try new facial treatments and make sure my skin is the best it can be. There are always new products being put on the market and we really are spoilt for choice. This year, I’m going to try a lot of new products and even try some more K-Beauty brands as I’ve heard such great things! I always recommend going to get a facial every couple of months as they use lotions, creams, and serums that you wouldn’t usually have at home. They can also give you an expert opinion on what your skin actually needs, helping you tailor your skincare routine. Over the years I’ve tried so many brands and types of skincare, never finding one that worked for me (see my SheaMoisture African Black Soap Kit experience here), but after having some consultations, I think I’m on the right path. I’m really into my skincare and I’m always trying to find new products that work for my skin type. I’ve been reading a website similar to the Renee Rouleau Blog recently and it’s been really helping me. There are so many amazing skincare products on the market at the minute, it’s difficult to know what to buy!
Face Cleanser and Exfoliator
A basic need! I love the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. It goes with my bareMinerals Mix Exfoliate Smooth perfectly! Using the Mix Exfoliate Smooth eliminates the need to have an entire bottle of facial scrub. You just mix the granules in with your favorite cleanser and BAM! You’ve got a completely customizable face scrub. I don’t know about you but I always suffer from Dry Skin in Winter so some kind of exfoliating product is an absolute must, otherwise trying to get my make up to sit right is impossible.
Facial Radiance Pads
So I got the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads in a set and wasn’t sure I’d love them, but I’m down to the last one and boy was I wrong! These pads totally beat out my old favorite toner. They make my face feel clean and brighter than before!
Eye Cream
Even though I’m in my 20s, I think eye cream is a very important part of my daily routine! First Aid Beauty Eye Duty is the perfect AM eye gel that helps wake me up and make my eyes look a little less tired.
Serum
I never understood the importance of serum until I started using it and it made my skin so much better! It really helps to absorb all of the product that you put on your skin! I discovered the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum in a set and haven’t stopped using it.
Moisturizer
A nice, hydrating cream is just what I need for the winter! First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream is my favorite. The tub lasts forever and the cream feels amazing going on!
Lip Care
My lips get ridiculously dry sometimes so I find it important to use a scrub and balm. For my balm, I usually use Smith’s Rosebud Salve. It’s not very expensive and definitely gets the job done! Plus, it offers a little bit of a rosy tint. For my scrub, I recently discovered the e.l.f. lip exfoliator which totally kicks butt! It’s inexpensive and there’s no pot of scrub to mess with, which means no wasted product or messy fingers!
Skin Care Tool
There is one skincare tool that I just can’t live without and that’s my Clarisonic Mia 2! It’s not a replacement for exfoliating, but a more effective way to wash your face!
