I am unapologetically obsessed with podcasts… I listen to them everywhere! Whether that’s in the car, on walks, in the parks or when I need to focus, podcasts offer a great way to learn on-the-go. It’s even made me consider creating a podcast of my own, only I wouldn’t know where to start. I hear there is a podcast service provider that helps with all the technical stuff and the engagement of the audience, making it simple to start-up, but I’m pretty content with being a listener for now. If you haven’t found a favorite podcast yet, check out some of my suggestions and you just might find something you love!
Check out a couple of my favorite podcasts I’ve listened to this week:
Live your best life
By the Book: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up
The podcast: By the Book is hosted by Kristen and Jolenta, two women I find to be incredibly endearing. Each episode, they live by the rules of self-help books like French Women Don’t Get Fat, The Memory Book, Bored and Brilliant and You Are a Badass. Each episode is absolutely hilarious, and whether their remarks are positive or negative, I usually want to read the book by the end!
The episode: This week, I listened to the The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. In this episode, Jolenta and Kristen live by Marie Kondo’s book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and share their experience with strange sock folds and thanking inanimate objects.
Feel a little happier
Happier by Gretchen Rubin:A Little Happier: Always Orient Yourself Toward North
The podcast: Happier by Gretchen Rubin is a podcast about how to be just that– happier! It’s hosted by Gretchen Rubin, the author of The Happiness Project, and her sister, Liz Craft, a writer and producer. This is one of the first podcasts I became hooked on and am so glad I did!
The episode: If you’re easing yourself into podcasts and just want a little pick-me-up, Gretchen’s A Little Happier podcasts offer a dose of calm and reflection in just a couple of minutes! Start with the latest A Little Happier episode: A Little Happier: Always Orient Yourself Toward North.
Brush up on your etiquette skills
Awesome Etiquette: Episode #192: Name Games
The podcast: Awesome Etiquette is a podcast by the Emily Post Institute, making it the ultimate podcast destination for etiquette tips. This podcast has helped me with how to approach life with more consideration, respect and honesty. The hosts of Awesome Etiquette have a talent for tackling modern issues, as well as typical issues you think would arise in the world of etiquette.
The episode: This week, I listened to Episode #192: Name Games, which goes into topics such as how to eat strawberries, correcting someone when they say or spell your name wrong, and whether or not to overhear things and interject.
Best new pick: The News from BuzzFeed News
For my final suggestion? Something new! I recently discovered The News from BuzzFeed News and seriously enjoyed the fresh format. There’ve only been three episodes so far, so you could probably listen to them all! They offer a refreshing take on the news, so even if you’re not a CNN addict like me, it’s worth a listen!
